Top 5 Reasons to Have Us Finish Your T-Shirt Quilt

A Finished Quilt is A Good Thing

We are more than happy to create a custom T-Shirt or Memory quilt for you, but for any number of reasons you need some help getting yours completed.

We might ask you to tell us the story behind the quilt, but we won't judge. Some quilts just need a border or squaring up to get the edges straight.  It is amazing how some professional machine quilting will turn a crumpled mess into a beautiful keepsake you will treasure for many many years.

Reasons to Have Us Finish Your Quilt

  • You already cut the tshirts  (see Oops, I Already Cut My T-Shirts)
  • You have completed the top, but don't know what to do next
  • You put the blocks together, but something does not look right
  • Your 'friend' asked you to make this quilt because you have a sewing machine
  • You have a deadline (i.e. graduation, birthday or other holiday)

What Size T-Shirt Quilt Do I Want?

I Have Too Many T-Shirts

You have a HUGE pile of T-Shirts. How many souvenir t-shirts from vacation travels do you have? Were you in sports, band and every group at high school? Oh, maybe you were in a sorority or fraternity in college. If you were like my daughters, they acquired a new t-shirt every time their sorority had an event, which was most every week! These days, a t-shirt is created for every ev ent, and it is not unu sual to have a large collection of t-shirts.

How Many T-Shirts Do I Need?

The hardest decision in getting a t-shirt quilt made is deciding how large to make it. In other words, how many t-shirts do I need? If you have a huge collection of tee shirts, you might think that you need a king sized quilt. Just because you have a lot t-shirts, you might want a huge quilt. Determine what the best use for your quilt will be; something to relax under on the couch, or as an actual bed quilt. If making Memory quilts, we suggest that you make the Generous Throw sized quilt.

Choosing The BEST Materials for YOUR T-Shirt Quilt

About Our Materials...

Fabric Selection

While other companies only offer a few basic fabric choices for your quilt. T-Shirt Quilts of Texas stocks several hundred bolts of fabric and you can choose from 2-4 fabrics from most fabrics in stock, including quilt shop quality flannel ** for the back of the quilt for that extra cozy effect.

All of my fabrics are quilt shop quality fabrics, mostly from Quilting Treasures, Blank Textiles, Wilmington, Moda Fabrics or P&B Textiles, but also include Robert Kaufman, Maywood Studios, RJR, Choice and Marcus Brothers. If you have been using other fabrics, you will be able to feel the difference! It is softer and smoother, and has a tighter weave, so it will last longer.
